Theseus and the Minotaur: A Novel

Hey!  This is a novel I am currently writing.  We all know about the Greek tale of Theseus and the Minotaur where a prince goes on an island as a tribute (Suzanne Collins was very clever with this and the gladiators!) to be sacrificed to a wretched creature: the Minotaur.  Theseus ends up killing the beast, and going home wit Ariadne.  In History, I learned more about this and the island it takes place on: Crete.

In Crete they did something called bull jumping, and with this I created a story about a young girl named Thaleia who becomes a bull jumper and when she is older falls in love with Theseus and helps him out of the maze.
It's unedited and it was very hard to write the beginning and might not make to much sense, but enjoy!

The
Minotaur
A Novel of Theseus and the Minotaur

Chapter One

I couldn’t show my fear.  I couldn’t show how my legs were shaking, how the sweat was pouring down my face.  It would be shameful to do so.  But I was nervous.  This wasn’t a bad thing; if you were completely confident Master Cleon would slap you on the head with his palm and tell you you would die the moment you entered the arena.
But even though I was nervous, I was also leaping for joy.  After years of training to flip and twirl off small animals and doing complicated twists in the air, I was ready for what every child in Crete dreamed of: to be a bull jumper.
Two other youths were waiting to go into the arena with me.  Adelphe was standing tall but was clutching her stomach; Aetios was crouching down low, his dark hair falling in his eyes.  Like me they were both dressed in loose tunics, with nothing on our feet.
Adelphe glanced my way and gave me a tight smile.  “You’ll be fine, Thaleia.  You’re first bull jumping is always the scariest, but nothing will happen to you.”
I gave a slight nod.  This was my first bull jumping.  I had practiced on sheep when I was a child and for the past year off of gentle cows, but this was different.  Not only was I coming a few months earlier into the arena for one my age, this was the ceremony of the gods; the beginning of the new year.  We were one of the first acts, followed by more advanced jumpers, but it was still an honor.  But I had seen the beast we would be jumping off of.  A huge bull with long ivory horns and huge muscles rippling under shiny black hair.
In the arena, three children were currently leaping off gentle cows, twirling in the air.  That was what I was doing last year.  Then they finished, and all
too soon it was our turn.  “You’ll do fine,” whispered Adelphe, giving me a hug.

Aetios smiled up at me from where he was drawing in the dirt with his finger.  “If you do half as well as you did last night during practice, you should be great.”
Then the conch horn blew, and they were shouting our names.  I was sure my stomach was full of butterflies, and I whispered a hurried prayer to the gods to protect me and keep me safe while still giving a splendid performance.
We all ran into the huge arena.  It was in a huge circle, and my fellow Cretans were in the stand, cheering and shouting.  They wore brilliant colors that dazzled the eyes, and their dark eyes shone with delight.
While Adelphe and Aetios cartwheeled off to the side, I took a running leap.  I twirled twice through the air like I did so many times and then landed on my hands, using my weight to pull me back on my feet.  The crowd roared with approval.  I smiled and then did two more of these.  My last twirl was a giant running start and the doing a flip in the air and landing on Aetios‘ back, holding myself up with my arms.  Everyone screamed, and I beamed.  If this was what a bull jumper did, I loved shining in the spotlight!
I jumped off his back and we ran to our correct positions in the arena.  Then, the crowd screamed as one.  The huge wooden gate where the animal was kept was suddenly thrown open.  The bull stumbled into the clearing, and my stomach knotted in fear once more.  He was bigger than I remembered.  There was nothing to stop him from him killing me.  His huge ivory horns were covered in gold bracelets, his cloven hooves raked up the dust of the arena.  His eyes were dark and angry, and then he snorted and charged toward Aetios.  I wanted to scream, but restrained myself.  My friend would be torn to shreds with those horns!
This was every bull jumpers fear, the moment when the bull you were jumping could kill you or you could jump and break your neck or bone, or worse.  But that was the dangerous thrill of the sport.
Aetios stood his ground as the bull charged toward him, and at the last second he took a leap.  The horns almost caught his tunic but Aetios safely landed behind the creature, rolling skillfully to the ground.  The crowd cheered.
The beast wheeled around to try and chase Aetios, but Adelphe began to do cartwheels while shouting, to get the beasts attention.  She did the same thing that Aetios did, and the crowd roared again.
Then it was my turn.  The beast charged toward me, and I stood my ground.  And then at the last second I jumped into the air.  I clenched my hands around the ivory horns, pulling my body up into the air.  The crowd screamed and whistled.  The bull then threw his head and I let go, landing behind him on my feet.  Sweat poured down my body, but I was grinning.  That was amazing!  My first bull jump ever!  I bowed and waved cheekily to the crowd, and they laughed.
I then turned around.  The bull was chasing Aetios again, who was sprinting.  Adelphe and I made our way toward him.  As Aetios ran right in front of the bull, she and I cartwheeled in front of him as well.  The creature was confused who to chase!
He chose me again, and I sprinted along the wall as the crowd laughed.  I stayed right in front of him to cause the crowd to laugh in fear, but far away so I wouldn’t be killed.  Aetios joined me and we danced to the side.  We did flips again and my stomach tightened again, but I landed safely.
For the last act I grabbed the bull’s horns again but landed on his back, standing.  It reeled to the side and I almost lost my footing, but I grabbed onto his horns.  He charged madly around, but then here it was: in a split second Aetios and Adelphe did a handstand on the bull before falling off.  I did as well, and as the crowd madly cheered the three of us raced toward the safety of the wall.
I jumped up with Adelphe, and with her help pulled Aetios safely, his legs narrowly missing the bull’s horns.  In a sweaty heap we all cheered and laughed and hugged each other.  We had all survived!
Our trainer appeared out of nowhere, beaming.  Grabbing our hands we danced in a silly circle and Master Cleon gave us all firm hugs.  We had done it!  We were now true bull jumpers.  In the few moments it took for some workers to get the bull out of the arena, we ran back out.
The crowd madly cheered, and I bowed.  They then began to throw roses and necklaces of seashells, and I smiled as I picked them up.  To please them again, in unison we took a running start once more, did a flip, landed on our hands at the same time, before finally landing on our feet.
And then we bowed low to our king.  He was an older man, but still was strong and lean.  His pepper-gray hair was streaked with white, and he had cold eyes.  He was dressed in finery as he sat on his bejeweled throne, eating fine treats and sipping from golden cups.  Beside him was his daughter.  She was dressed in the finest clothing, golden bracelets and precious stones on her arms.  She was so beautiful, with her thick brown curls and beautiful green eyes, and a flawless expression.  Aridane was three years older than I was, reaching the end of her childhood at twelve.  She smiled at me, and King Minos nodded.  Adelphe and I smiled, and I noticed that Princess Aridane eyes lingered on Aetios.
We then walked respectfully away, waving and smiling at the crowds.  In the darkness of the tunnel we laughed.  “We did it!  We did it!” cheered Aetios.
“You did amazing!” said Adelphe, giving me a hug.
I sighed, happy to be out of the arena, but waiting excitedly for the day I would go and jump over a bull again.

Was it good, bad? Leave it in the comments! If I get one, I shall dedicated the next part to that commenter! :)

As Taylor told me about Cash, I glared at the road.  How dare he do that to my best friend!  Looking at my face, Taylor laughed as she usually did when she was nervous.  “Alright Dani, let’s turn on the radio again.”

She turned it on, and we sang to the familiar lyrics, until a new song came up.  It was the huge one, the one that kids would sing all the time and drive everyone crazy.  The lyrics were amazing and the voices were great at singing.  When the song ended I stared at Taylor in shock.  “They...they sounded better than Tyler Rush!” I cried.

She laughed.  “I know!”
“They were boys, right?”
“Oh yeah.  And they are so cute!” squealed Taylor excitedly.  “They’re called One Direction, and there are five boys that are the cutest!”

I grinned.  “Lemme look them up!” I dug into my purse and grabbed my iPhone.  I tried to look them up on Safari, but sadly there was no internet.  “Dang!  There’s no internet,” I said, putting it back.
“Oh, well.  They are super cute.  Ooh!  Look!  There’s the airport!” said Taylor.  She suddenly got off the highway and we went to the airport, trying to find a parking spot.  But there was no need.  Standing in front of the airport with all her bags and boxes was Evangeline Jones.
We both squealed and I jumped out of the car giving her a huge hug.  “Evangeline!” I cried.
“Hey, Dani!” said Evangeline, putting her back on the ground.
I stood back and looked at her.  She was dressed stylishly as always, probably even wearing one of her own clothing.  Out of us all, Evangeline was the one that loved to shop for clothing and would wear fancy stuff, wearing the best clothes.  She had been working in Chicago for a year now with a fashion designer, and she loved her job designing clothes.  Out of the three of us, Evangeline was the shortest and the most delicate looking.  She had beautiful dark hair and big soulful hazel eyes and perfect skin.  But when I looked into her face, I saw weariness and bags, and her eyes looked a little red.  Taylor wasn’t joking, she was still sobbing over the loss of her boyfriend of three years.
Evie!!” squealed Taylor.  She jumped out of the car and tackled Evangeline, giving her a huge hug.
“Hey Taylor!” said Evangeline with a laugh.  I began to pick up all of Eve’s bags and put it in the trunk.  While the other girls helped.  In no time we were once more on the road.  Evangeline sat in the back as we all laughed and talked about all the things we were going to do.
After a few hours of singing ourselves hoarse and running low on water and chips and other snacks faithful Evangeline bought, we pulled over at a gas station.  We raced each other to the restroom, and I was grateful after the long car ride.
While Evangeline bought some more snacks, I went over by Taylor, who was filling up the gas tank.  As we chit-chatted, a pickup truck with a huge trailer and an awesome Suburban pulled in, followed by an awesome motorcycle.  “Gosh, are they moving?” I joked.
Taylor shrugged.  The doors opened, and out came the passengers, the motorcycle squealing up to fill up.  There were five boys, and they were all very handsome--the kind of kids you find at the jock’s table or those ‘boy-bands’ they talk about on tv.  They all joked and laughed and nudged each other excitedly, the one with the dark hair that had rode the motorcycle went inside, followed by one with curly hair.
The other three boys were filling up their tanks, and Taylor and I stared transfixed.
“Are they cuter than Tyler Rush?” I whispered.
Taylor shrugged.  “I dunno, but I wanna meet them!” she said.  I grabbed her arm and rolled my eyes with a laugh.
“Ah, Taylor, a little too boy crazy are we?” I said.
Taylor blushed.  She suddenly took a step toward me and whispered in my ear.  “The super cute blonde one is watching you.”
I turned around and saw indeed one of them was watching me.  He had thick, wavy sandy blonde hair and a perfect athletic build, and I blushed.  He, too, looked away quickly when he saw I noticed.
Just then Evangeline came out, her arms full of goodies.  I immediately went to help her, and then we all got in the car.  Taylor blared on the radio, and my favorite song came up by Tyler Rush.
We all began to scream the lyrics, and I laughed as we pulled out.  I stuck my head out the window, and the three boys were staring at me.  I grinned, and waved at them cheekily, and they laughed and waved back.
I want, I want, I want, but that’s crazy!  I want, I want, I wanted to be loved by you!” we sang.
After a few more songs came on, the same song that was sung by One Direction came on, and Taylor and I laughed as we tried to sing the lyrics.  “Oh!  Hey, Evie, do you have internet?” I asked.  “I wanna see a picture of them!”
Evangeline was silent, and Taylor was focused on the road, trying to figure out where we were.  I turned around, and looked at the back seat.  Evangeline was holding her iPhone.  She was trying to breathe, and her mascara was running down her face with tears.
“Evangeline?” I whispered, touching her arm.
She looked up, her hazel eyes full of sadness.  “Evie, what’s wrong?” I asked.
She sniffed.  “I...I...Cash...Cash want’s me back,” she whispered.
I stared at her, and glanced at Taylor.  For once, Taylor looked angry as she gripped the steering wheel.  “What?  Why?”
She shrugged.  “He...he just texted me and…”
I snatched the phone away though she tried to take it back, but I ignored her.  The jerk had indeed text her, and it wasn’t a long one:

Ev, i wantcha back. luv ya, babe. xoxo
He could at least learn grammar and how to spell, I thought darkly.
“Danielle!  Give it back!” cried Evangeline.
I ignored her, and quickly texted him back.  It wasn’t a nice one, and I gave him a good yelling, but I was proud.  He wouldn’t dare text her back.
“What did you do?” moaned Evangeline as I handed it back to her.
“I told him that he is the biggest jerk for dumping the sweetest girl ever, and that she is partying at the Sand Dune Beaches having the time of her life with her best friends and if he texts you again I am going to come and personally hunt him down,” I said.
Evangeline laughed through her tears.  “Thanks, Dani.  And Taylor.  This vacation is just what we need--free of boys and nights of constant partying.”
“That’s right!” I said, and Taylor rolled down the windows, the wind blowing back our hair.

Mozzarella Sticks

You've dreamed about them, have them, or wish you did.  Beautiful, delicious, awesome Italian side dishes, the inside gooey and melty and full of cheese, the outside coated in bread crumbs, all dipped in mariana sauce.
Why am I so cruel?  Sorry I haven't posted in a while, but don't worry!  I have a few more things to post about, I just have been so busy lately!
So, instead of eating out one day after watching the musical The Secret Garden on Thursday, we got some frozen French fries and chicken nuggets and bought some mozzarella sticks for a treat for lunch.  Well, they were so good but WAY expensive!  So on a lonely Saturday, I looked up the recipe for mozzarella sticks and I was so happy when I discovered all the ingredients!  Make them.  They are FABULOUS!

Mozzarella Sticks

  1. 2 eggs, beaten

  1. 1/4 cup water

  2. 1 1/2 cups Italian seasoned bread crumbs

  3. 1/2 teaspoon garlic salt

  4. 2/3 cup all-purpose flour

  5. 1/3 cup cornstarch

  6. 1 quart oil for deep frying

  7. 1 (16 ounce) package mozzarella cheese sticks

  1. In a small bowl, mix the eggs and water.
  2. Mix the bread crumbs and garlic salt in a medium bowl. In a medium bowl, blend the flour and cornstarch.
  3. In a large heavy saucepan, heat the oil to 365 degrees F (185 degrees C).

  4. One at a time, coat each mozzarella stick in the flour mixture, then the egg mixture, then in the bread crumbs (arrange it like above) and finally into the oil (I had my mom do this). Fry until golden brown, about 30 seconds. Remove from heat and drain on paper towels.

So I made them and they were AWESOME but the only problem was that instead of adding the right amount of salt I added HALF A CUP.  No joke!  Haha!  They were quite nasty!  :)  But if you make them right, they'll taste amazing!

New Popstar Novel

So...this is a story I've been writing for a while!  It's about a girl named Danielle who goes to the beach with her two best friends.  While there, she falls in love with two of the boys and is shocked to learn that they are part of the biggest boyband in the world.  I absolutely love it, but apparently I've written 20,000 words on it....

If you want to read more, nanomail me at YWP NaNoWriMo as OneWithNoName (say where you came from!) or you can email me....wait, does my email show up on here?  Oh well.  :)

Well, enjoy!  :D

You know how you can get really excited and can’t sleep, no matter how tired you are or how much you need it?  I had that, and it was awful and fun.
It was July 28th, tomorrow it would be the July 29th.  I frequently looked at the calendar hung on my wall, checking to see if tomorrow was really Monday the 29th.  It was.  The huge circle around it was obvious, and the texts from Evangeline and Taylor were living proof on my iPhone.
I gave another excited squeal and jumped onto my bed, trying to close my eyes and fall asleep, even though I hadn’t even changed into my pajama’s and my lights were still on.  I gave up.  It also didn’t help that Tyler Rush--my favorite popstar artist who could also sing but was very good looking--was blaring.  I wasn’t worried though.  At this hour, my family would be asleep, and I should, too.  I wasn’t a night owl, more of an early bird, and I was so exhausted, but I was much to excited for tomorrow.
I looked at my bags again on the floor by the door, and went through them again, checking to see if I had everything.  In the wee hours of the morning I would pack my iPhone and books and all that other stuff that could wait until tomorrow.
I then sat down at the edge of my bed, looking at my bedroom.  I gotten my room when I was sixteen, two years ago.  It used to be my dad’s never used workroom, but that summer (my birthday was in May) I got to work.  I painted the walls cream.  I got a beautiful four poster bed, with white bedding and teal and brown pillows.  I had a huge bookshelf and a long desk, filled with papers, pens, sketches, my laptop, and candy hidden under my homework.  The floor was carpet, and I had a beautiful ceiling fan.  My brother’s didn’t have one in their room, but I made my mom get one for me when I did my room.
I smiled and lay sprawled out on bed, grabbing my worn, adorable stuffed animal wolf.  I had gotten him when I was two from my grandma, affectionately giving him the name ‘Wolfy.’  I still slept with him, and I sometimes felt embarrassed when new friends and guy friends came over to study with me and see him, but hey: I had always slept with Wolfy, and he was comfortable.  But I wouldn’t bring him when I would go to college.  That was why I was so excited for tomorrow.
I wouldn’t go to college until the fall semester when I was eighteen, but my best friends: Taylor and Evangeline, would be going as well, just to different schools.  We were BFF’s, but when Evangeline’s parents divorced when she was nine, she finally decided to go stay with her dad in Chicago when she was fifteen, while Taylor’s multi-billionaire dad didn’t have any more business in Charlotte, North Carolina, where I lived.  We hadn’t seen each since last Christmas, when Taylor begged us to come out for her eighteenth birthday in Los Angeles, in December, even flying me out.
We all missed each other terribly, but who knows when we would see each other again?  That was why I was so excited for tomorrow: I had come up with the idea of going to the wonderful, beautiful white beaches of North and South Carolina for two weeks, just the three of us, having the time of our lives, getting a tan, late nights, and talking about boys while getting mani and pedis, blaring Tyler Rush and whoever else the girls had discovered since we last saw each other.  Tomorrow, my Dad would drive me down to an airport about two hours away (though we safely had one in Charlotte), where I would pick up Taylor.  She had already rented a car, and we would go and pick up Evangeline at another airport another hour away, since her flight had unexpectedly changed last night.  Finally, we would drive to the beach for two hours, and stay there for two weeks.  Taylor had rented a beach house with her dad’s money (he had so much he wouldn’t notice that it had disappeared and maybe even Taylor), and by the pictures it looked amazing.  It was right on the beach, and only about a twenty minutes away from the mall and ‘civilization.’
This was why I was so excited, and I knew that I didn’t want to be grumpy for my friends since I needed my beauty sleep though it was sometimes a ‘waste of time’ for me, but I couldn’t.
I was lost in my thoughts, smoothing the hair on Wolfy, when there was a knock, and a sleepy eyed mom came home, dressed in a bathrobe.  She squinted in the light, and I turned off the light, so only the glow of my computer and bedside lamp was on.
“Hey, Dani,” she whispered hoarsely, sitting on the edge of my bed.
“Hey, mom,” I whispered.
“Why aren’t you asleep?  Do you know how late it is?” asked Mom.
I looked at my wrist watch, and saw it was 2:13.  I groaned.
Mom chuckled softly.  “Can you go to sleep now?  It is really late.  Maybe it would help if you turn down Tyler Rush and turn off the lights,” she said with a half grin, leaning over to turn down the volume on my radio thing.
I smiled.  “OK, mom.”  We hugged and said goodnight, and my mom left.  I turned  off Tyler Rush and turned on more soothing, sleeping music, and somehow managed to brush my teeth, now thoroughly exhausted.  I didn’t even change my clothes before I collapsed in my bed, and finally managed to close my eyes and fall asleep.

“Dani!  Dani!  Danielle!  Get up!” shouted Bree.
I looked up slowly from the pillows, and glared at my five year old sister.
“Go away!” I growled, trying to push her.
She danced away gleefully, a huge smile on her face.  “Not yet!  Mom said you have to be ready to go in thirty minutes, for serious this time, or else you aren’t going to be able to go to the beach.”
My eyes flew open.  “What time is it?” I cried in a half strangled voice.  I looked at my watch, and saw it was eight o’clock.  How did I sleep that late?  “What didn’t you wake me up before?” I cried at Bree.
She looked at me, laughing.  “I did!  An hour away!  You woke up and said you would get up, and then you fall back asleep!”
I vaguely remembered that, and I groaned, pinching myself to get up.  “OK, OK, I surrender.  Thanks, sugar,” I said, patting Bree’s locks.  “You can go, I’ll get up now.”
Bree danced away, and I reached over and turned on my radio, and changed it to Tyler Rush.  Music was a big part of my life, and I could play piano and guitar very well along with violin, and I had an amazing voice.  I didn’t listen to the new pop music very often, but our family loved Tyler Rush--practically the only artist I ever listened to--and it was a very good way to get you up when you were more or less dead.
I jumped into the shower and wiped away the sleep, getting clean with cold water, which woke me up.  I leaped out very fast, and I brushed my naturally curly hair so it was straight, and ran the straight iron really fast through my hair.  I then pulled on the clothes I laid out the other night.  A white t-shirt, shorts, and a really cute pale green-blue over shirt that was left open, complete with a hat.  I put my long hair up in a loose bun for now so it wouldn’t get in my face, and scrambled around, finish packing all my stuff.
Thirty minutes Dad came in, smiling as I dashed around, trying in vain to find my headphones.  “Hey, Danielle,” he said.
I looked up.  “Oh, hey, Dad.”
“Ready to go?”
“Erm, more or less.  Can you take the bags out to the car while I find my headphones?”
“You mean these headphones?” he said, pulling out some headphones from his jacket.
“Where did you find those?”
“Courtesy of Dylan,” he said, my eleven year old brother.
I grinned and grabbed them.  “Thanks!”
He took my stuff out to the car while I downed some fruit shake that mom made for breakfast.  I said goodbye to all my siblings: Dylan, Lily who was eight, Bree, and baby Cole who was two.  I hugged mom tightly, and she told me to be very safe and be responsible, and not get into trouble and call every day, and don’t swim away and be careful when I went swimming, and don’t talk to strangers and be wary of cute boys, and that list that mom’s could come up whenever they were worried when their kids left.  I grinned and rolled my eyes.  “Bye, Mom!” I said, hugging her and giving her a kiss on the cheek.
“Bye, Dani!” my family yelled.
I grabbed my bag and then jumped in my dad’s car, waving goodbye.  While I put some make up on, my Dad just drove with a grin on his face.  When I finished, I looked at him and we made small talk, talking about small things.  I could lead the conversation where I wanted it to go often.  The radio was off.  Even though music was a huge part of my life, I loved talking, and in my parent’s cars, the radio was a no no.
Dad wasn’t a big talker, he liked more to disappear, but when he did you sort of had to listen to him.  He was easy to talk to, and soon we were at the gas station where we would pick up Taylor.
I couldn’t contain my excitement, and Dad smiled at me as I bounced in the passenger street.  Finally, we pulled up into the gas station.  A beautiful, tall girl with gorgeous auburn curls looked up from where she was texting on her iPhone, leaning against a cool silver car, a Benz CL550 or something.  (My dad was a crazy car person, and when you were on the pot for a long time those magazines were slightly interesting.)
She glanced up when we pulled in, but turned back to her phone.  I squealed and wanted to jump out.  But then I asked if I could surprise her.  I asked Dad to pull in as if to get gas, and I would jump out, where Taylor wouldn’t see me.
I then leaped out of the car, and snuck up to Taylor.  With a shout, I attacked her.
Taylor screamed and jumped up and went to hit me--courtesy of taking Tai Kwan Du since four--but then she screamed with joy when she saw me.  We both hugged each other, squealing as we jumped up and down like idiots.  A few people stopped and stared.
“Taylor!” I said, giving her a huge hug.
Dani!” she cried, giving me a tight hug.
“How are you?” I cried.
“I’m great!  And you?”
“Great now that you’re here!”  We both hugged again.  “You look so amazing!” I said, looking at Taylor.  Besides having beautiful hair, she had beautiful almond shaped light brown eyes and a perfect face, not to mention tall and perfectly proportioned.  She was dressed as stylish as she always was: short jeans, a cute white tanktop, and then a blue button up blouse over it.
“Aw, shucks!  You look fabulous, too, love!” she said, giving me another hug.  We giggled.  I went inside the gas station and bought some candy and went to the bathroom.
When I came out, Dad and Taylor had transferred my bags to Taylor’s rental car.  I gave Dad a huge hug, and he said for me to be very careful but also have fun, and he would drive all the way down to pick me up if I felt like I needed to leave.  I thanked him for driving and said goodbye, and then he was gone.  Then I turned to Taylor.  “Party time!” we both screamed.
“Can I drive?” I said.
“Nope!  It is my car and I want to!” she said.  I was only joking but I laughed, and I slid into the passenger seat.  Taylor blared on the radio and she began to drive, all the windows down, making our long hair ‘billow in the wind.’
We laughed and giggled and talked about boys and life and what we would do at the beach.  The subject changed to boyfriends.  Six months ago my perfect boyfriend dumped me, and I wasn’t to keen on getting another one.  Taylor went through boys as quick as she went through clothes, but Evangeline was the sensitive one that had her heart ripped out and stamped on.
In a lowered voice as if Evangeline was riding in the back, Taylor explained to me that Cash was real serious with Evangeline.  But when she discovered that Cash was taking drugs and not to mention sleeping with women, Evangeline dumped him and sobbed.  This was about a month ago, before we planned the beach trip, and whenever Taylor called her--which was frequently--Evangeline would be in tears.
As Taylor told me about Cash, I glared at the road.  How dare he do that to my best friend!  Looking at my face, Taylor laughed as she usually did when she was nervous.  “All right Dani, let’s turn on the radio again.”

Well, there you go! Did you like it? Yes, no? And yes and no. This story is NOT about One Direction! The boys in here are NOT them, and though I do massively love 1D, it is not about them, though it was definetely inspired! I need to come up with a new band name...got any ideas? Leave any of them in the comments! :D

Rebekah Grace

Hey guys!  Sorry I haven't been on a while, but I've been busy.  I've also been going through a very tough time.

I have a big family, but I was excited when I found out my mom was pregnant with a baby girl.  She was due March 4th, but she was born much earlier.  It happened a few weeks ago.  On Tuesday, February 12th, my mom went to the hospital since she hadn't felt the baby kick in a while.  When she came back, she told us there was no heartbeat.  She's now in a better place.  :,(

She was born February 13th, 2013 since she was still inside my mom's belly.  Her name is Rebekah Grace.  Though my siblings and I didn't get to see her in person, we did see pictures.  She was absolutely perfect and was gorgeous.  The only thing wrong with her was that the cord connecting to her was white and all twisted.

Thank you so much for everyone that has been praying for us!  We've really felt it.   :)  Love you!

Love,
Madeline

P.S.  On a happier note, this blog has 1,000 views.  YEAH!!  HAPPY DANCE!  ;D

Hello Again!

Oh my goodness!  It has been quite a while since I've last been on here!

Since then I've been super busy, and when I did find time to actually get on, the internet crashed on the weekend twice in a row!  It was ridiculous!  Luckily it was up today, thus the reason why I am blogging.  :)

Well, here are some NaNoWriMo characters that I drew for my shop!  I drew them a while ago, but I actually uploaded today...so sorry for the lateness guys!  But better late than never, right?

This is Josie for kcn2000.  She turned out pretty well I think!

Sorry for the weird coat thing, but Tessa turned out pretty cute for JadaB!

And last but not least (and unfinished, mind you!) is a work in progress for emmaquin, fellow dictioner!  It's Amberlin.  I need to add the hat (got a particular one?), color it, and give her that fiery red hair, but here it is just so you know.

I'll try and finish her and another one tomorrow, as well as post s'more on this blog, but until then, toooooodles!!!  xD
